Treasure Hunting

Amanda Eufer-Lewis
Owner & Lead Stylist, The Den

‘Tis the Season for gift giving and thus, holiday shopping. We have all spent more time than ever in our homes this year and if you are anything like me you want to re-decorate every inch. What better gift to give this year than a new and thoughtful tchotchke for your friends’ and families’ homes? To help expand your list of go-to shops, I’m sharing a few of my favorite local destinations. An added bonus? You’ll be supporting small and local businesses which is arguably more important than ever.

Modmood and RETRO Consignment

4401 Zephyr Street, Wheat Ridge

If there was a midcentury heaven, this would be it. They have an unbelievable collection of furniture and décor that has been meticulously sourced. If vintage isn’t quite your speed, they also house an array of new pieces. Including a gorgeous assortment of sheepskins in a jewel box of colors. I recently nabbed a teal one that adds the perfect pop to any room. They’re an easy way to kick the ever-present sheepskin trend up a notch.

Antiques Etc.

5736 East Colfax Avenue, Denver

A hidden gem nestled on East Colfax where each booth typically has something of interest. I’ve found beautiful glassware, burl wood dining tables and recently a gorgeous copper kitchen canister set.

Found Antique & Artisan Mall

4501 Wadsworth Boulevard, Wheat Ridge

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior. Upon entering you’ll have three floors of goods to explore. Each floor is comprised of antique vendors as well as local makers. Every time I go, I leave with something I never knew I needed. For instance, a ceramic vase that looks like a plastic bottle.

Brass Armadillo Antique Mall

11301 West Interstate 70 Frontage Road North, Wheat Ridge

A tried and true staple in the antiques community of Colorado. If you have plenty of time to wander and hunt, this is the place for you. There are endless aisles of antiques and collectibles.

Mile High Coop @MileHighCoop

If you’d rather have someone else do the legwork and shop from the comfort of your sofa, look no further than @milehighcoop. Rhea has an eye for specialty retro furniture. You’ll often see comments on her feed along the lines of “where do you find these things?!” If you’re on the hunt for a gorgeous Eames reproduction or 80’s dining chairs that will be the envy of all your dinner party guests, Rhea will have what you’re looking for. For example, I recently scored a pair of orange acrylic and chrome chairs for an upcoming ultra-modern staging project.

JKC Vintage Décor

For treasures from farther away, my go to is @JKCVintageDecor

While not local, JKC Vintage Décor is one of my absolute favorite Instagram resources. Jennifer has an incredible knack for thrifting the most unique objects that are sure to be instant conversation starters. Even though she’s based in Canada, her customer service is unparalleled, and shipping is lightning speed.
